Dundee United World Cup star Aziz Behich admits the red mist came down during his bust-up with Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.

The pair squared off just moments before Messi opened the scoring against Australia in the last-16 tie.

Following their altercation, a fired-up Behich fouled Papu Gomez as the game sparked into life.

Argentina opened the scoring from the resulting free-kick when Messi drifted inside to steer the ball past Mat Ryan.

'IT WAS REALLY PAINFUL'

A PAINTER has told of the terrifying moment he was on board a 3000-tonne US Navy ship that toppled over in Edinburgh leaving him with horrific injuries.

The horror incident at the Leith dockyard saw the RV Petrel break free from its moorings and tilt at a 45-degree angle last month.

At the time medics confirmed 35 people were injured in the harrowing ordeal.

One of the 21 people taken to hospital was Constantin Pogor, 48, a Romanian national.

An international student at the University of Stirling claims she was forced to return home after Student Programmes failed to provide the documents required to apply for a visa.

Fourth-year student, Khaliun Batbayar, had to fly back to Mongolia in September after the University failed to give her CAS documents despite several emails asking for help.

'We are a city!': Dunfermline's politicians thrilled by new city status

The Fife town was one of 39 in the running to win city status in a competition to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It was confirmed on Friday that it had succeeded.

The hockey pitches at the University of Stirling have been called into question after a series of reports that students have suffered serious injuries on the surface.

Since the new year, many students have complained about the ‘slippiness’ of the sand-based artificial pitch at the Sports Centre.
